#4 Building a Blog in Public — 1st Guide is Live
Hey folks!
It’s the 4th week since I started to build an SEO blog in public. This week was rough a bit as we were busy creating a 4000+ words guide for Untalked SEO.
⚡ You can see the 4000 words Programmatic SEO guide here.
It took us around 20 hours of work as the guide was very technical and we also had to create various infographics to illustrate the concepts in a better way. Cool infographics also make the reading process fun, don’t they?
To give you an idea, this is the one that I created to illustrate how Programmatic SEO works:
What do you think of it, is it any good?
Apart from the new post, the website has crossed more than 100 impressions in the Google Search Console.
Earlier, our plan was to publish more and more blog posts, but now, we are changing our strategy.
We’ll now be publishing 3–4 really long guides (like the recently published guide on Programmatic SEO) on the site and then 5–6 short articles (like the CWV tools) supporting them. Because this way, it will be easier to reach out and get people to link to the detailed guides that we publish.
We are planning to slowly start the outreach campaign from the start of the coming month, April. Let’s see how it goes.
In the coming month, our other goal will be to create the content for the 7-day SEO email course that we’re featuring currently on the homepage of the site. The course content that I currently have in mind will be focused mainly on the basics and fundamentals — because if you don’t know how search engines work, you’ll face difficulty in how SEO works.
I am also planning to change or rather optimize the right section of the site’s footer. Currently, it’s featuring SEO Hub and Blog which doesn’t seem to be descriptive enough. I am thinking of putting Guides and Case Studies in that location.
Apart from all that, I think I should install a Full Site Editing or FSE enabled WordPress theme on the site so that then I would be able to insert a subscribe box below all the posts. And, overall it gives me more control over the site, I can edit and modify almost all the areas of the site without having to deal with the code.
Let’s see how it goes.
That’s it for this week.
